Ways to Give

Why Give Generously

St. Peter’s hopes you will remain faithful in supporting the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability. When members give of their time and their treasure unto the Lord, the work of God’s Kingdom continues through St. Peter’s, both locally and in faraway places. St. Peter’s relies 100% on the faithfulness of its members, through their tithes and offerings, to continue the mission to which God has called us.

But more importantly, to tithe to the Lord is to honor the Lord in worship. The Apostle Paul put it best when he said:

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – II Corinthians 9:6-7

STOCK CONTRIBUTIONS

Please contact Lori Golden at the church office (830-693-2253) to make a contribution of stock.

If you have appreciated stock that you have owned for at least a year, giving it to St. Peter’s may allow you multiple tax benefits: you may receive a charitable deduction on your income taxes for the stock’s fair market value and avoid capital gains taxes on the appreciated stock value.

DIRECT ACH GIVING

Authorize the church to deduct a fixed amount from your bank account on a recurring basis. Please contact Lori Golden to set up.

IRA DISTRIBUTIONS

If you’re over 70 1/2 years old and have to satisfy a required minimum distributions (RMD) from your IRA each year, please consider giving to St. Peter’s and enjoying the extra tax benefit. By authorizing a distribution from one’s IRA, paid directly to St. Peter’s, several St. Peter’s members have found this satisfies the requirements of a “qualified charitable distribution,” earning tax-free treatment. This provision applies to traditional IRAs only, not 401(k)s.

If you’d like to give to St. Peter’s from your IRA, please have your distribution made payable to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and sent to St. Peter’s mail address (1803 Highway 1431 West, Marble Falls, TX 78654), Attn: Lori Golden.
