Serve

Jesus said, “But whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:26-28

Serving others is a key mark of discipleship. We follow One who served others, even to the point of giving his own life. At St. Peter’s we encourage everyone to serve within the congregation, and we also encourage people to serve beyond the congregation – at work, at home, and in the community. Through service we extend God’s love for the whole world. Whether your gifts and passions lie in teaching, healing, coaching, building, advocating, or walking, using them to serve another will bring the hope of Christ into the dark places of our world.
