Ash Wednesday

Our Lenten Journey begins with The Service of Ashes on Ash Wednesday, February 14th. Our 40 day journey recalls Jesus’ 40 days spent in the wilderness as he commenced his ministry. We begin the season by marking our foreheads with ashes made from the celebratory palm branches of Palm Sunday. This is a sign of repentance and self-denial as we remember that like Adam and Eve, we are “dust and to dust we shall return.” We pray that your Lenten Journey is marked by repentance, prayer, and the steadfast love of God and that our midweek worship at St. Peter’s assists you in your Easter preparation.
