2019 Congregational Goals

This year the Church Council is building on last year’s process of creating guiding goals for our congregation and committees.  Over a weekend retreat we spent time in scripture, study, and prayer.  Guided by the Holy Spirit we discerned the following values and goals that lead us to follow Christ more faithfully.  We plan to make this a yearly process after the new council is elected by the congregation.  Since we elected new members to the council at the annual meeting on January 27th, we are currently using March to March as the yearly timeframe for our goals.

Below are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) from the goals presentation to help you and us all know how we can together live out these goals in 2019.

What if I don’t see a certain goal on this list?

These goals are for 2019, so we expect them to change for next year.  Be sure to share your input with a council member.  CLICK HERE for a list of council members.

How will these goals actually be implemented and followed-up?

The council aimed for each goal to be as SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, & Time bound) as possible.  The council and various committees will be taking the lead on each particular goal and evaluation throughout the year.  This input will also be shared as the council meets to evaluate new goals for the year.

I am excited about a certain goal.  How can I help?

Contact a council member or a committee connected with that goal to share your gifts and passions.
